About Dr. Richard

Dr. Nameeta Penkar Richard grew up in North Carolina as the daughter of Indian immigrants and the hills of Happy Valley often remind her of home. As a young girl, Dr. Richard always knew she would work with children one day. She attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA where she majored in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and minored in South Asian Studies. After medical school and Pediatric residency at Wake Forest University, she journeyed across the country with her husband where she completed a Pediatric Hematology Oncology fellowship at OHSU. After practicing Pediatric Hematology Oncology at Randall Children's Hospital for 10 years, she decided to make a career pivot back to her roots in General Pediatrics. She was recently voted a Top Doctor 2024 by Portland Monthly magazine.
